Maximum Duration of Calls

On-demand Jeenie calls have a maximum duration of 240 minutes (4 hours). As the 240-minute time limit approaches, both you and the customer will see a red countdown timer on the screen. The call automatically ends at 240 minutes without any further notifications.

Clients are alerted when a call reaches 120 minutes (2 hours) and are advised to confirm with you that you’re able to continue with the interpreting session. If you are able to stay on the call, please let the client know how long you can continue, up to the maximum duration.

If you are unable to continue with the interpreting session, please advise the client that you are unable to continue and ask them to call back and start a new call. See Leaving a Call Early to learn more

Remember: As a professional interpreter, you should be aware of your own limitations. If fatigue is beginning to affect the quality of your work, such as your ability to concentrate or retain information in working memory, it’s your duty to politely excuse yourself from the call.

If the customer requires more time beyond the 240 minutes (4 hours) maximum duration, please ask them to call back and start a new call. Jeenie does not have a way to extend the call beyond 240 minutes (4 hours).

If the client would like to work with you in the future, they have the option to pre-schedule a call via their portal. When they schedule the call, they must ask for you by first name and Interpreter ID. When they send in the request, Jeenie will reach out to you. If you choose to accept the call, you are expected to adhere to the Jeenie Scheduled Calls Requirements for Linguists.
